Director, Facilities Planning, Design and Construction
Suzanne Dorantes is a director for Facilities Planning, Design and Construction for MD Anderson Cancer Center. Suzanne has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Previous to working at MD Anderson she worked in the private industry on projects ranging from convention centers, hospitality complexes, K-12, Justice Center complexes and healthcare. Her experience ranges from the contracting and procurement to the execution of projects on site. At MD Anderson she has had a successfully progressive career starting out as a project manager, moving in to a supervisory position, to leading a team of 30+ employees managing institutional projects supporting the 13 million square feet of space that house the patient care, administrative, research and education facilities of MD Anderson.
Suzanne holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Houston and an MBA from Texas Woman’s University. She previously was a member of the University of Houston Industry Advisory Board for the Construction Management program and served as secretary for the Texas Chapter of the Construction Owners Association of America. Suzanne was also a charter member of the MD Anderson Facilities Management Lean In group and is a continued leader of the ongoing program.
