Rosanna Durruthy

Chief Diversity Officer, Cigna Corporation

Rosanna Durruthy leads Cigna’s global diversity and inclusion center of excellence. In this role she develops and executes the enterprise diversity and inclusion strategy, enabling business growth and supporting the company’s mission to help improve the health, well-being and sense of security of Cigna’s customers. As a member of the global human resources leadership team, Rosanna collaborates in the design and execution of integrated talent management strategies that drive employee engagement and retention, customer connection and enhanced client value, inclusive and culturally competent partnerships in supplier and health care provider relations, and impactful strategic investments in emerging communities. Under Rosanna’s leadership, Cigna has introduced nine colleague resource groups (CRGs), supported by more than 3,000 employees, to activate actionable insights, and innovate products and services that are culturally relevant and appropriate in meeting the needs of emerging, influential consumers of health services. Cigna’s award winning CRGs provide important leadership in enabling diversity to drive business capabilities and differentiated results that serve to attract and retain talent, as well as empower Cigna customers and the diverse communities they represent. Prior to joining Cigna, Rosanna led an organizational consulting practice designed to accelerate diverse emerging leaders and next generation executives in mastering fit and influence, for sustained leadership effectiveness. As an executive coach and personal network analyst, she supported clients in developing successful approaches to create diverse talent pipelines and leadership development strategies among clients in the financial services, consumer packaged goods, media/advertising, entertainment and insurance industries. Rosanna has held human resources leadership roles in diversity, talent acquisition, leadership development, mobility and relocation and human resources technology, in addition to HR partner roles. She is a frequent presenter at conferences in best practices in diversity and inclusion and has also presented at industry conferences including the 6th Emotional Intelligence World Summit, in South Africa; Brokering Change: a Wall Street Multicultural Women’s Exchange; and the Forté MBA Women’s conference. Rosanna attended Harvard College, and has previously served on the national board of directors of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, Lambda Legal and the Drum Major Institute for Public Policy. Presently, she serves on the board of the PhD Project, and the Human Rights Campaign Business Advisory Council. She has been recognized as one of the country’s leading Hispanic women by both Hispanic and Hispanic Business magazines, and in 2012 Savoy magazine recognized her as one of the top influential women in America.
