Human Resources Executive  

Imelda Laborde joined Alcoa in 2007 and is currently the Global Human Resources Director, Alcoa Titanium & Engineered Products & Alcoa Defense.  In this role, she is responsible for the strategy and tactical execution of the overall HR function for both divisions.

Imelda has more than 20 years’ experience in organizational and leadership human resources. Additionally, she has been a Steering Committee member of the Global Alcoa Women’s Network since 2014, and she helps lead the Talent and Development sub-committee.  Imelda has been an active Alcoa sponsor of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) since 2013, representing Alcoa as a speaker in the “Latina Women and Leadership” speaker series.  In 2015 Imelda diligently led the successful launch of the newest Employee Resource Group for Alcoa, the Alcoa Hispanic Network.  Prior to Alcoa, Imelda held roles in human resources, continuous process improvement and learning and development at Temple-Inland, Austin, Texas, supporting the financial services and manufacturing divisions of the organization.

Imelda earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at St. Edward’s University  in organizational communications and organizational leadership and ethics. She holds several certifications in leadership development and a yellow belt in Six Sigma.  She is currently working on a Doctorate of Management at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. Imelda lives in The Woodlands, Texas area with her husband Miguel and their son Alex.
